My First Book Review . . .

book cover

My book was reviewed yesterday in the Sunday edition of the Honolulu Star Advertiser.  Here’s what was said:

If you’re hankering for a longer Hallmark moment, pick up this whimsical and wise collection of personal memories and poems.  “I have an idea that our children tell us very early in their life what they would like to do when they grow up.  Not in words . . but in the things that give them joy consistently”, writes Markland, whose joy in words is infectious.  Born in Iowa, which she calls the Camelot of coffee and pie, Markland lives in Nebraska and has wintered in Hawaii for 40 years.  Her writing has appeared in the Saturday Evenig Post and, yes, Hallmark cards.”

What a delightful review! We’re all so proud of what you’ve done in writing and then self-publishing your book! I have an idea you won’t have a problem finding a publisher the next time! Are you thinking of another book? Hope so, because with your imagination and basic writing ability, you’re creating an audience of readers who are asking for more!!! Have a good summer!

Congrats! Live in Hawaii. Born and raised… 🙂 Read the review and immediately knew it was something I wanted to read. Bought it for my kindle and savored it. A beautiful book with so much wisdom and heart. Just one complaint! It was much too short. 😉 Truly hope that you are thinking of writing another. Aloha!
